Fluorescent nanodiamond material benchmarked at RMIT

cnbplogosquare128 April 2015 :

CNBP RMIT node has hosted Macquarie University PhD student Ishan Das Rastogi for a week long visit, to help benchmark commercial as well as in-house prepared fluorescent nanodiamond material, using confocal microscopy. A number of nanomaterial processing steps were also discussed during the visit and processing protocols shared and demonstrated. Desmond Lau, Brant Gibson and Philipp Reineck were directly involved in discussions, experiments and data analysis with Ishan.

Loco for confoco! Visitors to RMIT

Hannah-Brown21 April 2015: Visitors from UoA and MQ to RMIT:

The confocal microscope at RMIT has been the object of several visits lately, most notably Hannah Brown (April 16 & 17), a researcher from University of Adelaide, and Ishan Rastogi (April 20-25), a PhD student from Macquarie University.

Hannah was kind enough to give an introductory presentation about epigenetics to the RMIT team, and used the microscope to investigate some fixed cells that she brought with her.

Ishan also brought some samples with him, but with less focus on the biological side – he is in the process of benchmarking the flourescence of nanodiamonds.
